TEHRAN, Dec. 21 (MNA) -- A senior MP said on Monday that the conservatives will focus on efficiency, the need to provide services to the people, national development, and efforts to moving in the direction of the 20-Year Outlook Plan during the campaign for the presidential election, which is scheduled to be held next spring.
The 20-Year Outlook Plan has been approved by the Expediency Council.

MP Mohammad Reza Bahonar told the Mehr News Agency that the conservatives will field only one candidate and hope that the other four candidates will decide not to run.

The Coordination Council for the Islamic Revolution Forces Committee, which is mainly composed of key figures within the conservative camp, including former Majlis speaker and one-time presidential candidate Ali Akbar Nateq-Nuri, plans to select only one candidate from its short list of five.

The five potential candidates are former IRIB TV director Ali Larijani, former foreign minister Ali Akbar Velayati, MP Ahmad Tavakoli, Tehran Mayor Mahmud Ahmadi-Nejad, and Expediency Council Secretary Mohsen Reza’i."
