LONDON, Jan 12 (IranMania) - A political activist on Tuesday referred to meetings held by different groups with Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani in support of his presidency and said Rafsanjani believes aspirants nominated so far cannot handle state affairs.

Speaking to Fars News Agency, the rotating chairman of the group known as Ninth Coalition for a Better Tomorrow, Tahereh Rahimi, added, "In my meeting with Rafsanjani, he said that he did not like to run for president and preferred other candidates to nominate themselves. However, he said that among the present candidates he did not see anybody fit for the job."

Stressing that there is a high likelihood of Rafsanjani running for the presidency, she said, "There is no room for experimenting things and learning as the chief executive of the country. Therefore, only competent and seasoned politicians should become president so that we could have a strong presence on the global scene. Since Rafsanjani has already experienced eight years of presidency successfully, I believe that the best choice for presidency is Rafsanjani."

Rahimi emphasized that Rafsanjani is an asset of the Islamic system and his services must be utilized as long as he is willing."
