“We will not support anyone other than the candidates we have already introduced,” Nateq Nuri said in response to a question by the Mehr News Agency who asked him about the possible candidacy of Expediency Council Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani and Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Hassan Rowhani.

The Coordination Council for the Islamic Revolution Forces Committee met again in Tehran on Friday and was addressed by the leaders of the committee including former presidential candidate Nateq Nuri, who lost to President Mohammad Khatami in the 1997 presidential election, the potential presidential candidate Ali Akbar Velayati who led Iranian foreign diplomacy for sixteen years, and Habibollah Asgar-Ouladi, the former secretary general of the Islamic Coalition Party.
