TEHRAN, Jan. 5 (MNA) –- The director of the Union of Women Journalists Jamile’ Kadivar said on Wednesday that there is still time for fielding new candidates in the reformist camp.
“Of course, there is still time for naming new candidates and we will wait until the candidates’ plans are announced and then come to a conclusion,” Kadivar told the Mehr News Agency reporter when asked about the candidacy of former Majlis speaker Mahdi Karrubi and former science minister Mostapha Moein.

Asked which one of the two candidates are favored most by the Union of Women Journalists the former MP again said the two candidates have been accepted by the reformist camp but what is more important is the plans which will be introduced by the two presidential hopefuls.

“The date for the registration of candidates has not yet been announced and friends have just announced their readiness to enter the election contest, and until the registration date (is announced) there is time for declaring views,” Kadivar noted.

She said negotiations are underway with the purpose of reaching a consensus.

It is through a consensus that the victory of the reformists will become certain, noted Kadivar, wife of the former culture and Islamic guidance minister Ayatollah Mohajerani."
