Iran Daily: "Moin Picks IIPF Head As Running Mate

TEHRAN, Feb. 4--A leading reformist presidential nominee, Mostafa Moin Friday said that he selected the secretary-general of the Islamic Iran Participation Front (IIPF), Mohammad Reza Khatami as his first vice president because he is scientifically and spiritually competent.
Addressing reporters he said, "I chose Khatami as running mate from among all other choices because of his particular views on scientific, cultural and political issues."
He said that someone like Khatami, younger brother of President Mohammad Khatami, could help him push forward reforms and fulfill deals of the Islamic Revolution if he is elected to the top post.
Moin, who is endorsed by the Islamic Revolution's Mujahideen Organization and the IIPF, introduced Khatami as the number two man during a meeting at his campaign headquarters.
Moin is the first presidential candidate who has introduced a running mate."
