Intelligence Minister Ali Yunesi said here on Monday that the upcoming presidential election would be held in a completely peaceful and healthy atmosphere.

Speaking in a gathering of governors in Tehran, Yunesi vowed that the Intelligence Ministry would maintain security in elections with the help of the police and army.

The enemies’ first goal is to disrupt security on the eve of the election and this would prevent holding a healthy poll, he noted.

The minister stressed that any measure aimed to discourage people is detrimental to national security, adding that efforts should be made to encourage a massive voter turnout. "
