Hojjatoleslam Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani's Election Headquarters here on Friday voiced objection to "objectives pursued" and "methods applied" in Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) election campaign.

In the communique issued by Rafsanjani's Election Headquarters, the policies pursued by IRIB Channel 2 are particularly criticized as being "biassed" and inclined towards certain candidates.

It adds, "The organizers of Channel 2's Dialogue program were expected to schedule clearly for holding regular panel discussions among experts they invite and to inform the candidates' elections headquarters well in advance."
The communique reiterates, "Yet, the panel discussion dialogues are being pursued in a way that the invited experts rather than defending the plans presented by the candidates they present, put under question the achievements of the Islamic Revolution throughout its 26-year life, in a bid to ruin the reputation of the other candidates."
The communique adds, "Even at times when the experts representing Mr. Rafsanjani are not present at the discussions, and naturally unable to defend their candidate, the negative campaign against him is seriously pursued at the national media, which is an obvious violation of the election laws."
The communique claims, "According to opinion polls ran by this headquarters that program has not only not led to convincing the masses to take vast part in the elections -- as the Supreme Leader has always encouraged -- but also dissuaded a large number of potential voters from taking part at the June 17 poll."
